POSITION AND PURPOSE


 

The Director of Enterprise Communications champions Golden 1's Mission, Vision, and culture. This role oversees strategies and activities that strengthen the employee experience, connect people to Golden 1's purpose, engage them in achieving our Strategic Goals, and build excitement for the social and community impact we create for our members and the communities we serve. With visibility across enterprise-wide initiatives, this position leads a team that partners with key stakeholders as business advisors and leverages traditional and multimedia internal communications channels.

 

This position requires proactive engagement and cross-functional collaboration to develop and execute strategic communications programs. The leader inspires and guides the team through strong mentorship, clear direction, and effective conflict resolution.

 

The Director also evaluates insights and learnings to establish benchmarks, maximize return on objectives, and recommend improvements and innovations through constructive, ongoing dialogue with senior leadership and cross-functional colleagues.

THE WORK


 

Serve on the department leadership team and partner across functions to develop and execute an integrated enterprise communications strategy.

 

Develop, manage, and evaluate communications strategies that advance Golden 1’s Mission, Vision, culture, and strategic priorities.

 

Establish and track measures that connect enterprise communications efforts to employee engagement and organizational performance.

 

Represent the employee voice to leadership and reflect employee needs in communications planning and messaging.

 

Support the VP, Enterprise Communications, in advising executive and senior leaders on communication needs, internal presence, and messages that support project and business goals.

 

Maintain visibility across enterprise initiatives to identify opportunities to leverage, improve, and innovate internal communications.

 

Partner with peers to develop strategies and execute communications for HR and Learning & Organizational Development programs.

 

Oversee and optimize employee communications across traditional and multimedia channels to keep employees informed and engaged.

 

Develop and execute communications that reinforce Golden 1’s culture and Core Values.

 

Provide sound counsel to executive and senior leaders during change, crisis, and enterprise-wide initiatives.

 

Manage intranet content and ensure materials align with enterprise priorities and communication strategy.

 

Prioritize communication requests, meet deadlines, and ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality.

 

Support the VP, Enterprise Communications, with annual and ongoing strategy, budgeting, planning, coordination, and program implementation.

 

Develop and manage relationships with external vendors.

 

Maintain knowledge of applicable state and federal credit union regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering requirements relevant to the role.

 

Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Understand regulatory requirements and role-related risks; maintain controls that support the Credit Union’s risk appetite, operational integrity, and compliance obligations.

 

Develop and maintain an understanding of the pertinent regulatory requirements and risks inherent to job responsibilities, establish, and maintain control activities that mitigate those risks consistent with the Credit Union’s risk appetite, and ensure operational integrity and compliance with applicable regulations.


QUALIFICATIONS


 


EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field required


EXPERIENCE:

10+ years of experience in communications, marketing, and/or corporate affairs, with demonstrated success developing and managing communications programs required

Demonstrated expertise in building trusted partnerships, relationships, and teams across the organization. required

Skilled in developing and executing communications campaigns, programs, and change communications strategies. required

5+ years of direct management and/or supervisory experience and enterprise-minded strategic planning experience required


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Knowledge of corporate communications practices and trends.

Strong work ethic with a passion to advocate and serve internal audiences.

Detail-oriented, with strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills.

Strong writing skills.

Self-starter attitude and can work independently and as part of a larger team.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

All levels of staff and management

EXTERNAL:

Members, Potential Members, Potential Employees, Vendors, Community Leaders, 3rd party vendors, and other credit union representatives.


WORKING CONDITIONS


 

Work time includes weekend and after-hours time, based on organizational needs. This position works in-office where working conditions, lighting, temperature, audio, and workspace are all sufficient.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


 

Work requires the ability to constantly operate a computer and the ability to read, type, and communicate. Work may require the ability to move work-related supplies weighing up to 10-15 pounds.
