POSITION AND PURPOSE
| The Consumer Lending Director, Analytics/Risk is ultimately responsible for identifying, measuring, developing, implementing, reporting, managing and mitigating the credit risk associated with lending products. The Director – Credit Risk & Analytics will perform this function by conducting ongoing in-depth portfolio risk analyses and performance monitoring to grow and protect Golden 1's assets including evaluating and improving risk and pricing strategies to temper credit exposure related to loan products (including loan participations purchased) and other member products and services with a credit element. The Consumer Lending Director, Analytics/Risk monitors and understands industry and internal credit risk exposures and operational risk considerations and management approaches with the goal of ensuring that product risk is managed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The Director – Credit Risk & Analytics promotes continual learning, professional growth, and development within the team. |

WHO YOU ARE
| You have expertise in areas of the credit lifecycle such as account originations, pricing and credit line assignment, credit product marketing and/or account management or collections strategies. You lead enterprise credit risk management efforts, ensuring effective oversight of portfolio performance, risk exposure, and credit policy with an eye on returns. You leverage data, analytics, and industry expertise to identify emerging risks, strengthen risk controls, and support sound lending decisions around product, risk, pricing, and marketing strategies. You have strong hands-on skills in using SAS, SQL, Python or R to manipulate data to draw insights. You collaborate with business leaders to translate credit risk insights into strategies that protect assets, support growth, and maintain a strong risk culture. You demonstrate strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment |
• | Understand, evaluate and direct Golden 1’s credit products, underwriting, related lending policies, risk profile, portfolio and product concentration risks, including geographic, industry, risk rating methodology, and other aggregate credit characteristics. | • | Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to a team of analytics/risk associates, fostering a collaborative, engaging, and innovative work environment. | • | Foster a positive and engaging work environment for each team member by promoting skill development, coaching for improvement and growth, inspiring others through your words and actions, ensuring positive employee morale throughout Golden 1, and embracing our mission, vision and core values. | • | Responsible for ensuring the creation, implementation and reevaluation of best practice credit risk-related procedures and policies throughout the credit union. | • | Perform risk reviews as needed for member products and services. | • | Contribute to enhancing loan policies as needed to fulfill credit risk functions and goals. | • | Monitor and evaluate ongoing performance of custom score (AI) models used in the loan decisioning process. | • | Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position. |
• | Develop and maintain an understanding of the pertinent regulatory requirements and risks inherent to job responsibilities, establish, and maintain control activities that mitigate those risks consistent with the Credit Union’s risk appetite, and ensure operational integrity and compliance with applicable regulations. |
EDUCATION: | • | Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent work experience required | | | |
EXPERIENCE: | • | 10+ years as a Lender or in Credit Risk Analytics or Credit Administration at a financial institution. Demonstrated experience performing retail credit risk management functions with deep expertise in account originations, pricing and credit line assignment, credit product marketing and/or account management or collections strategies required | | | |
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: | • | Demonstrated excellence as a strategic thinker who can put plans into action to achieve mutually agreed upon goals in a fast-paced professional environment. | • | Proven track record of successfully developing and managing risk strategies for retail products within financial services during differing macro-economic environments. | • | Understanding of the various risks (credit, operational, market, etc.) and management approaches within retail financial products and digital/analog operations. | • | Excellent analytical skills and ability to leverage data and customer insights to inform product, risk, pricing, and marketing strategies. | • | Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional leaders and teams, vendors, and other credit unions. | • | Ability to effectively synthesize analytic results into concise and impactful business cases with clear recommendations. | • | Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. | • | Solid background with analytic, statistical and data manipulation tools such as SAS, R, SQL and/or Python. | | | |

WORKING CONDITIONS
| Work time includes weekend and after-hours time, based on organizational needs. This position works in-office where working conditions, lighting, temperature, audio, and workspace are all sufficient. |
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
| Work requires the ability to constantly operate a computer and the ability to read, type, and communicate. Work may require the ability to move work-related supplies weighing up to 10-15 pounds. |
