POSITION AND PURPOSE
| Under the direction of Senior Internal Auditor and Manager – Audit Services, Staff Internal Auditor I plans and executes assigned operational, financial and regulatory audit engagements with general supervision. The position serves as an individual contributor, handling assignments with general supervision while escalating complex, sensitive, or high-risk matters as appropriate. Basic knowledge of credit union operations, applicable regulatory requirements, internal controls, risk management concepts, data analysis techniques, and confidentiality standards, with the ability to develop audit conclusions supported by sufficient, reliable evidence. |

• | Assist with risk-based internal audits including branch audits and compliance reviews in assigned area and prepare draft audit program to ensure appropriate audit coverage of critical activities, under supervision.Assist in documenting business processes, performing walkthroughs, analyzing data, evaluating control design and effectiveness, and identifying trends, exceptions, root causes, and opportunities to strengthen controls and protect members. | • | Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls using accepted risk management and internal control techniques. | • | Design and execute test procedures, analyze results, maintain sufficient supporting documentation, and form clear, evidence-based conclusions. | • | Prepare timely, accurate, and complete workpapers, observations, recommendations, and draft reports in accordance with department procedures and quality expectations under supervision. | • | Communicate review status, control observations, and recommendations to management; collaborate on practical mitigation strategies and escalate significant or sensitive matters as appropriate. | • | Maintain knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, regulations, industry guidance, and internal control practices, including requirements related to protection of member data and consumer financial protection. | • | Perform and coordinate follow-up procedures to determine whether management actions appropriately address identified risks. | QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: | • | Bachelor’s Degree in finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Audit, Information Technology or a related field from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required | | | |
EXPERIENCE: | • | 1+ years of internal audit, external audit or related risk experience required | • | 1+ years Experience assessing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, preparing reports, and communicating results to management is required required | • | Experience in banking, credit unions, or other financial services is preferred | | | |
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: | • | Knowledge of the IIA Global Internal Audit Standards, Internal Audit Code of Ethics, internal control frameworks (such as COSO and COBIT), risk assessment methodologies, and professional auditing practices. | • | Strong analytical, documentation, interviewing, presentation, and written communication skills. | • | Ability to work effectively in a team environment. | • | Strong knowledge of internal audit software, TeamMate, and Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Copilot and AI-assisted tools to support audit planning, analysis, documentation, and reporting, preferred. | | | |
LICENSES AND CERITIFCATIONS: | • | Professional certification in a related field, such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or an equivalent certification is preferred | • | Active pursuit of a relevant professional certification is acceptable. | | | |

WORKING CONDITIONS
| Work time includes weekend and after-hours time, based on organizational needs. This position works in-office where working conditions, lighting, temperature, audio, and workspace are all sufficient. |
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
| Work requires the ability to constantly operate a computer and the ability to read, type, and communicate. Work may require the ability to move work-related supplies weighing up to 10-15 pounds. |
