POSITION AND PURPOSE


 

The Sr Analyst provides advanced analytical and business intelligence support to leaders and business partners across Golden 1 Credit Union. Operating as a senior individual contributor, this role transforms complex and disparate data into actionable insights that optimize strategic, operational, and risk‑related decision‑making.

 

Working closely with cross‑functional teams and leadership, the Sr Analyst leads highly complex analyses that directly impact enterprise priorities and corporate strategy. The role functions as a thought leader and technical expert within the analytics function, requiring strong critical thinking, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to communicate insights clearly to executive and non‑technical audiences.

You translate complex, raw, and disparate data into clear, actionable insights that inform strategic and operational decision making across the Credit Union.

 

You are senior level analytics thought leader and technical expert who partners effectively with leadership and cross functional teams to deliver high impact, data driven solutions.

 

You apply strong analytical judgment, advanced technical skills, and clear communication to lead complex analytics initiatives, mentor others, and drive continuous improvement through scalable data solutions.

 


THE WORK


 

•

Advanced Analytics & Business Intelligence

  • Lead end‑to‑end analytics initiatives, including scoping work, triaging analytic requests, and delivering scalable analytical solutions.
  • Gather, prepare, and analyze complex data to identify trends, summarize patterns, and deliver data‑driven recommendations that drive enterprise strategy.
  • Develop robust, executive‑level dashboards, visualizations, and analytical reporting to communicate performance, risk, trends, and opportunities.

Analytics Solution Development

  • Partner with product managers, data engineers, and analysts to design and execute experiments, pilots, and minimum viable products (MVPs) aligned to defined business use cases.
  • Contribute to the development and institutionalization of repeatable, scalable analytics and business intelligence frameworks.
  • Establish and promote analytics best practices, including standards for methodology, documentation, quality controls, and reporting consistency.

Strategic Partnership & Insight Delivery

  • Proactively assess business needs and recommend research and analytics initiatives that deliver measurable value and strategic insight.
  • Prepare and deliver recurring and ad hoc analysis, reporting, and presentations for management decision support, committee review, and enterprise information requests.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear data stories tailored to technical and executive audiences.

Quality, Governance & Risk Awareness

  • Maintain strong quality controls by reviewing and supporting sign‑off of reporting and analysis prior to release to business partners.
  • Ensure analytics work products and processes comply with applicable standards, policies, regulations, and systems of internal control.
  • Monitor and maintain awareness of current and emerging economic conditions and internal/external factors that may influence performance, risk, and strategy.

Technical Leadership & Development

  • Serve as a subject matter and technical expert within the analytics team and for business partners.
  • Mentor and coach junior analysts by strengthening technical capability, analytical problem‑solving, and business acumen.
  • Support team and department leadership on complex projects and initiatives as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS


 


EDUCATION:

•

Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative or analytical fields (e.g., Accounting, Mathematics, Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or similar). required or

•

Equivalent relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.


EXPERIENCE:

•

8+ years f progressive analytical, business intelligence, or data analytics experience required

•

Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) required

•

Experience working within credit union operations or similarly regulated financial environments strongly preferred


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

•

Fluency with statistical and data manipulation tools such as SAS, R, SQL and/or Python.

•

Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, dashboards, automation; basic macros)

•

Demonstrated proficiency in data architecture, data warehousing, and business intelligence.

•

Microsoft Office Suite

•

Power BI (dataset development, DAX, executive dashboards)

•

SAS Enterprise Guide (data manipulation, transformation, aggregation)

•

Python and/or R (quantitative analysis and modeling)

•

Machine learning and data modeling (working knowledge)

WORKING CONDITIONS


 

Work time includes weekend and after-hours time, based on organizational needs. This position works in-office where working conditions, lighting, temperature, audio, and workspace are all sufficient.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


 

Work requires the ability to constantly operate a computer and the ability to read, type, and communicate. Work may require the ability to move work-related supplies weighing up to 10-15 pounds.
